The area around the water locks in Hvide Sande is a small haven for anyone who loves fishing. No matter whether you are a novice or and experienced angler. Therefore, many tourists visit the area each year.
HSSC is established to ensure that you can enjoy the benefits of great facilities when you are fishing by the water locks in Hvide Sande. Fish should always be handled with care. With an HSSC admission card, you are automatically provided access to the gutting room. Here you are able to gut, clean and put you fish on ice. The gutting room offers both running water, washbasins, ice and work stations to make sure that the job can be handled comfortably and in a proper working posture. The gutting room is open from 06:00 - 19:00.
If you have brought your family, they are welcome to take a break in the Fishing House while you prepare your fish. The Fishing House offers both tables and benches. Here a packed lunch can be enjoyed with a great view of the amazing harbour environment. Staying in the Fishing House is of course free of charge. A fishing card is only required if you are staying in the gutting room or fishing within the payment zones.
Children under the age of 13 fish for free and without admission card in the payment zones. They also have free access to the gutting facilities.

The water lock practice regulates if the water locks are opened or closed. They regulate both the water level and the salt content in Ringkøbing Fjord. When the water locks are opened, the flow of water makes it difficult to catch any fish.

The admission card gives you access to the fishing facilities around the port, water locks and piers in Hvide Sande. Admission cards can also be bought at Fiskeriets Hus, KOTT Fritid or Lystfiskeren in Hvide Sande. It is to be expected that the points of sale impose a handling fee.
Hvide Sande Sportsfisker Center (HSSC) is established through a co-operation between Hvide Sande Harbour, local tourist operators, Ringkøbing Skjern Municipality and ”Oplevelsesudvikling ved Ringkøbing Fjord”. HSSC is a self-governing institution. Our aim is therefore not to yield a profit. Revenues gained through the sale of fishing cards are therefore used to pay for the establishment, maintenance and further development of HSSC.
